Technical Services Manager - Infortech Corporation

System Administrator - Sierra Pacific Orthopaedics
June 2008 to July 2011
I was originally hired as desktop support with the IT Manager taking care of the majority of the servers. I was responsible for 200+ users and 50 network printers over 3 separate sites. Slowly I was given more and more responsibilities in regards to the servers while the IT Manager was moving away from managing IT.
My IT manager was promoted to Director of Operations and had a lot less time for IT. This suited me as I was gaining valuable experience and I was kept very busy. We added a ticket based system so I could keep track of end users problems and maintain a documented history of the hardware. I am on call 24/7 for any IT emergencies and work weekly overtime.
I am now responsible for all network devices such as routers and firewalls. All existing servers and new server projects such as physical to virtual migration, windows clusters, pop to exchange migration, secure Citrix farms from scratch, all desktop and server updates, Blackberry enterprise server, Secure onsite and offsite backups and multiple heathcare applications including digital XRAYs and MRI's and paperless patient health charts.
I love working at SPOC and the people have become friends but it is time to close a chapter and I am now moving my family back to San Jose.

IT Specialist - Torosian & Walter LLP
Oct 2007 to June 2008
I worked at Torosian & Walter for a little less than a year administering 40 workstations and 20 network printers. My day to day duties involved supporting software applications such as Quickbooks, Quicken, Adobe professional and Microsoft Office 2007.
During my time there i redesigned the company intranet using Microsoft Sharepoint Designer and HTML. Automated routine tasks, organize existing techniques, inventory all hardware equipment and software licenses and teach training classes.
The company was a great place to start all of the hardware and software was the latest, all users had multiple computer screens, phones were over IP and best of all tax season was super busy. I left because outside of tax season i didn't feel there was enough to keep me busy only administering 40 users. So once tax season was over and we had completed our "down time projects" i decided it was time to move on to bigger things.

CAD Drafter - Claude Laval Corporation
Summer 2006
While on a student visa I was unable to work a paid job. However, during my last semester I was able to work a summer internship as a CAD Drafter at Claude Laval Corporation. I worked specifically for LAKOS who design and build water separators and filtration systems for the agriculture industry.
I was responsible for creating and modifying submittal drawings for manufacturing, the picture is of one view of a LAKOS water separator.
I would be responsible for drawing parts ranging from a single bolt to a 50hp pump using 3d modelling software called Solidworks. Solidworks allowed us to draw multiple parts which fit together and compile a parts list of every nut and bolt.
It was a great little job but I could never see a long term future unless i went back to school and got a second degree in engineering.
